hello, ontario

Right at this very moment, I am singing at the top of my lungs to Of Monsters & Men and ogling over interior design on Pinterest.

What I should really be doing is packing for five days away in Ontario, seeing as we are due at the airport in five hours. But for now, I'm going to push my conscience to the back of my mind and daydream instead about staying overnight in my sister's little home in the heart of Toronto, returning back to my Grandma's house of memories and reading Kinfolk on the plane there. Not bad, not bad at all.

My Mom and I will be making this trip alone, without the accompaniment of my brother and Dad, who are currently trying to survive a weekend of crazy soccer tournament frenzies. But secretly, I don't mind. It's a treat whenever my mother and I get to escape and do something together, just the two of us. Last night, we kicked off our time together by bonding over stuffed bell peppers with curry sauce at the local cafe for supper. I'm very lucky to have someone like my mom in my life.

I'll leave you with a handful of photos, and hopefully come this time next Wednesday, I will have plenty of stories to share from five days in my homeland.
